"A great deal of my time as a pastor over the last quarter century has been spent helping people find ways to live amidst the turbulence of this world. If this spiritual and emotional malaise is unavoidable, then the only possibility for a better way of life is learning how to live above it. The life path of Biblical faithfulness in Christ provides the surprising answer to this universal dilemma." -- David Bruce Linn

Superb! Faithfulness--The Surprising Key to a Life of Joy and Meaning is the best of fiction and non-fiction in one book. For those who enjoy fiction, the story of Boxer and Patch stands alone as a life-changing, and thought-provoking novel. Each suspense-filled and well-researched chapter leaves the reader wanting more.

David Bruce Linn gives us more as he digs deep into scripture applying Biblical truth to the Boxer and Patch story as well as to our every-day lives. I couldn't put it down, yet I desired to read it slowly to grasp the spiritual application.

My life was changed as I "got" the author's heart--the key to a life of joy and meaning truly is Faithfulness to our God.

I've never heard David Linn preach, and halfway through this book, I feel the lack keenly. This book is an edited compilation of a sermon series preached by Pastor Linn at his Rochester-area church, and it speaks clearly and powerfully to me. Linn follows the unusual but highly-effective path of structuring each meditation around a section of a story that he's written, about a Polish-American soldier in the European theater during World War II, and the Polish-American M.A.S.H. nurse that befriends him there. I'm only halfway through, so I don't know how their story ends, but I'm on the edge of my seat. The fiction portions are gripping and taut, with fine characterizations. The sermon portions are clear expositions from the Bible with direct application to life. Linn knows what he's doing here. This is an excellent and much-needed book. -- Dénes House, Pastor

The Boxer and Patch series was truly inspirational. It impressed upon me that even though I may not have the strength to carry on, I must. God is my light in this dark world and He does not want me to give up. He will never leave me or forsake me." -- Shannon Balmer, Home Health Aide

"I personally owe Pastor Linn a debt I cannot repay. The setting of the sermon series on Faithfulness with Boxer and Patch hit home for me. I feel a personal connection to these messages. They were instrumental in saving me from myself." -- Frank Grossmann, New York State Police Officer
